Major Projects Group Manager - CT
John oversees customer relationships, project management, field operations, CAD and BIM solutions, and prefabrication on all major projects at Tucker Mechanical. He works closely with the company’s Chief Executive Officer and the rest of the leadership team on strategic planning initiatives.
Safety, quality, and planning stand out to John as pillars of a successful project, and, no matter the size or complexity, he strives to emphasize these three factors in all of his work and the work of his team, helping ensure positive outcomes and client satisfaction.
John has extensive experience working in the heavy industrial construction industry. Early in his career, he spent four years as a Project Engineer traveling the United States and building refined coal systems, coal prep plants, and various material handling projects for an engineering, procurement, and construction firm.
For the past eight years, he has primarily focused on the mechanical aspect of heavy industrial projects working as a Project Manager and Director of Projects.
His expertise spans a variety of markets within the industrial sector, including power, oil, and gas; chemical; manufacturing; and others. Notably, John worked on the Shell Polymers Monaca Facility (also known as the Cracker), one of the largest construction projects in the United States. The project housed over 8,000 crafts in in single day, and John’s focus was delivering a special team of steamfitters in the project’s critical path.
John holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Wheeling Jesuit University, as well as certifications from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Mine Safety and Health Administration.
John enjoys spending quality time with his wife and two daughters. His hobbies include waterfowl hunting, fishing, golfing, and hockey.
